I am so sad this software seems to be losing developer support, it really is an exemplary bit of of software, I had hoped it would see more polish and TLC but it seems to be decaying into obsolescence. For example I had a config where pages would activate when a certain application window was in focus/front and turn off when it was not in focus to ensure key-bindings/controls were catered to each specific application and wouldn't do any unintended actions when using other applications. However, instead of installing it by dragging its icon to the Application folder, uninstalling ControllerMate may need you to do more than a simple drag-and-drop to the Trash. On Windows there's Autohotkey (which you have to code), and a few others, but still not nearly as intuitive or as visually based as ControllerMate is working with nodes and properties, groups and pages which can accomplish a lot more than you might think. ControllerMate is a third party application that provides additional functionality to OS X system and enjoys a popularity among Mac users.
I am super bummed out, because I had invested many hours learning how to use it and setting up really neat configurations for my various peripherals, but mainly my 3 button foot controller for transcription/subtitling and video/audio scrubbing purposes which I can no longer use because there isn't anything else out there that comes close to replicating what ControllerMate can do on Mac. ControllerMate constantly crashes, the helper application necessary for things to work constantly quits, and now I'm experiencing crashes just opening ControllerMate. It was getting by on MacOS Mojave, but on Catalina it is no longer reliable. The support forum which was long in the tooth is no more, I have sent multiple emails to support (which I have corresponded with before) and have recieved no response in the last year. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, development and support for this application seems to have abrutply stalled. It is mesmerizing to watch the nodes light up when testing and setting up configurations. It is actually fun to play with and figure out due to the building block approach. Controller Mate is pretty much my top favorite applications on the mac for the utility it provides at such a great value and how robust it is once you understand how to use it.
